GGEZ Translations provides video game translation and localization services and maintains the GGEZ Dictionary, a free English-Spanish video game terminology dictionary.
2. Purpose and conditions of access
This legal notice governs access to and use of the website. Access is free and confers the status of user, which implies acceptance of these conditions. The user agrees to use the site lawfully, in good faith and without harming the rights or interests of the owner or third parties.
3. Intellectual and industrial property
The texts, definitions, translations, selection and arrangement of terms, images, design, code and other content of the site, and in particular the GGEZ Dictionary, are the work of GGEZ Translations and are protected by intellectual property law. The GGEZ Dictionary is also a database protected by copyright in its structure and by the sui generis right of the database maker recognised in Spanish intellectual property law and EU Directive 96/9/EC.
Except as expressly permitted in this notice, no licence or right of use over that content is granted.
4. Permitted uses
The following is freely permitted:
- Consulting the dictionary and the rest of the site for personal use.
- Linking to any page of the site.
- Quoting short excerpts of a definition with clear attribution (GGEZ Dictionary, GGEZ Translations) and a link to the source page.
- Indexing of the site by search engines and web search assistants (including AI-based ones), which may cite or summarise it with attribution and a link to the source.
5. Prohibited uses
Without the owner’s prior written permission, the following is prohibited:
- Mass, systematic or automated extraction or reuse of the dictionary’s content (scraping, crawling the site’s public API, automated downloads), as well as extraction or reuse of a substantial part, assessed qualitatively or quantitatively, of its content.
- Reproducing, distributing, publicly communicating or transforming the dictionary, in whole or in part, to publish it on another site, app, book or service.
- Creating databases, glossaries or datasets derived from the site’s content.
- Using the content to train, fine-tune or evaluate artificial intelligence or machine learning models, or to build datasets for that purpose.
- Circumventing or attempting to circumvent the site’s technical protection or access-limiting measures.
6. Reservation of text and data mining rights
In accordance with Article 4 of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and its transposition into Spanish law, the owner expressly reserves the rights of reproduction and extraction over the site’s content for the purposes of text and data mining and of training artificial intelligence systems. This reservation does not limit the permitted uses described in section 4, in particular indexing and citation with attribution by search engines and search assistants.
7. Licences and permissions
If you want to reuse dictionary content beyond what is permitted (for example, for an educational project, an integration or a licensing agreement), write to hi@ggeztranslations.com and we will consider it.
8. Links to third-party sites
The site may contain links to third-party pages. The owner does not control and is not responsible for their content, policies or practices.
9. Disclaimer
The dictionary collects video game terminology for informational purposes and may change or contain errors or omissions. The owner does not guarantee that the content is error-free or that the site will always be available, and is not liable for damages arising from improper use of the information. If you spot an error or want to suggest a term, you can use the dictionary’s suggestions form.
10. Data protection and cookies
The processing of personal data and the use of cookies are described in the Privacy and Cookie Policy.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
This legal notice is governed by Spanish law. For any dispute, the parties submit to the courts of Vitoria-Gasteiz, without prejudice to the jurisdiction that consumer protection law grants to users who are consumers.
